When space starts getting in the way.
Small homes rarely fail because they are simply small. They fail when circulation wastes floor area. When storage is added instead of integrated. When furniture blocks movement. When one room cannot adapt to different moments of the day.
Small Space Lab begins with those frictions. We study how the space is used, identify what is not working and redesign the relationship between layout, storage, furniture and daily life.

Generic shelving begins with a module. We begin with what is being kept: bottle formats, quantity, access frequency, display priorities, available footprint, future growth.
These conditions determine what the system needs to become.
That does not mean everything has to be individually bespoke.
Caskform works through configurable elements and repeatable principles that can be adapted to different collections, spaces and budgets.

Four things guide every piece.
PRESERVE
What is being stored determines how it should be kept. Orientation, environment, protection and access are considered from the beginning so preservation is part of the system rather than an afterthought.
CAPACITY
Every available volume needs to work intelligently. We look at bottle formats, shelf spacing, depth, vertical space and collection growth to create useful capacity without simply filling every surface.
ACCESS
A collection should be usable. Frequently reached bottles, special pieces, accessories and reserve storage can each require different levels of accessibility. The system is organised around those behaviours.
DISPLAY
Not everything needs to be presented equally. Some pieces belong in reserve. Some deserve emphasis. We balance storage density with deliberate display so the collection can become part of the room without turning the entire system into a showcase.
